Casey Downey

Mrs. Casey Downey is the Preschool-6th grade Principal.  Prior to becoming an administrator, she was a special education teacher for several years.  She enjoys interacting with the students on several different platforms and seeing them succeed in the classroom and in extracurricular activities.

Mrs. Downey graduated from Milledgeville High School in 2006 and Illinois State University in 2010. Her first teaching position was in Winnebago, Illinois where she taught 6th grade special education for two years and coached fresh-soph girls’ basketball. Mrs. Downey came to Stockton School District in 2012 in which she taught high school special education. Mrs. Downey earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2014 from Concordia University in Chicago, IL. Mrs. Downey began her administrative role at the high school in 2015.  At the start of the 2021-2022 school year, Mrs. Downey transitioned to the elementary school principal.

Mrs. Downey lives in Stockton with her husband, Sean and her children Brynley, Adalyn, Bo, and Aubrey. She enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, and helping her husband with their dog training and kennel business, Blackhawk Ridge Retrievers.
